Advanced Painting Studio

About this class

This studio course is for advanced students committed to developing a consistent body of work who will produce work independently. This workshop is for intermediate to advanced students who are seeking ways to improve their skills while creating well-realized paintings that continue to evolve. The instructor will provide one-on-one critiques on a regular basis. Students are encouraged to experiment with a wide variety of media and applications. The goal of this studio course is to help the artist to discover and clearly define the possibilities present in their paintings. A materials list will be sent upon registration. Registration for the Class begins Friday, August 7 at 10am.

Colored pencils are a rich, flexible medium. This class provides an exciting and innovative environment for the exploration of non-toxic, water-soluble colored pencils. The fundamentals and technical aspects of rendering in color will be explained. We will investigate line, color and space through interactive, individual- and group-oriented drawing exercises designed for expressions, not frustration. Emphasis is placed on developing your application of this medium. This class is designed for all levels of experience and proficiency. Beginners welcome. Join us!
