Question 1

How do I show work I made in Rockland County?

Accepted Answer

Open a Creative Profile and post the work to it. Music, visual art, photography, film, writing, food, design and craft all belong here. Each piece keeps its own page with the story behind it if you want to tell it, and the profile gathers everything you post over time instead of the work scattering across other people's feeds.

Question 2

How do I find other creatives to work with?

Accepted Answer

The Collab Board is where people post what they are looking for — a drummer, a photographer for a shoot, someone to build a set, a second pair of hands. Posts come from local people, so a collaboration usually starts with someone who is already nearby.

Question 3

Where can I perform or show work locally?

Accepted Answer

Venues around the county host music, art, comedy and readings, and are listed with what they actually host rather than only what they are. A room that runs an open mic and a gallery that shows new work are different problems, and the list keeps that distinction.

Question 4

What is an editorial feature, and how do I get one?

Accepted Answer

It is a written piece about you and your work, published here. The interview happens over email, in your own time and your own words, and you see it before it goes out. There is no cost and no catch; we publish local creative work because that is the point of the place.

Question 5

Who can post here?

Accepted Answer

Anyone making work in or around Rockland County. There is no standard to clear and no portfolio review. People working on their first piece and people who have done this for thirty years use the same profile.
