Question 1

Where can I find a pickup game in Rockland County?

Accepted Answer

Open games are posted by the people organising them, with the sport, the place and the time on each one. Basketball, soccer, pickleball and softball turn up most often, and the list changes week to week because it is only ever as full as what locals have put on it. If a game you want is not there, starting one is the faster route: people find games far more often than they find players.

Question 2

How do I get my games and stats to count for something?

Accepted Answer

Log the game afterwards and the result attaches to the people who played it. The other side confirms the box score, which is what separates a recorded game from a claim, and confirmed games build your Player Card, your team's record and the county leaderboards over a season.

Question 3

What is a Player Card?

Accepted Answer

One page for an athlete: the sports they play, their confirmed games and stats, the teams they have played on, their best lifts and times, and any highlights they have posted. It is the thing to send someone who asks what you play, and it fills in as you compete rather than being written all at once.

Question 4

How does a local athlete get noticed here?

Accepted Answer

By the work being visible. A confirmed game, a personal record on the board, a highlight from a real play — each one is a public, dated piece of a record that belongs to the athlete. Rockland is small enough that coaches, teammates and neighbours find people this way.

Question 5

Can younger athletes take part?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with limits that exist for good reason. Athletes 13 and under use a separate space with its own protections, and youth highlights are handled more carefully than adult ones.

Compete with locals.
