Built in 1755 as the Mabie Tavern, the Old '76 House in Tappan, NY is one of America's oldest continuously operated taverns. It played a notable role in American history as the holding cell for British Major John Andre following his 1780 capture and trial, before his execution on the hill above the village. Today it continues to operate as a working restaurant, where guests can dine among a historic interior, fireplaces, and exhibits that preserve its storied past.
