A 539-acre island and bird conservation area in the Hudson at the southern gateway to the Highlands, jointly managed by Palisades Interstate Park and NYS DEC. Major wintering site for bald eagles, year-round habitat for waterfowl, and a quiet stop for sunrise photography. Vehicle access from Route 9W; foot access via the railroad-bridge causeway.
