Rockland YogaFest is a free, daylong community wellness event that brings together yoga studios, instructors, families and residents from Rockland County and beyond for a day of movement, mindfulness and connection along the Hudson River. Hosted by Playful Yogi Space, in partnership with District Hot Yoga, Jamie Surya Yoga Studio and Peace in Piermont, Rockland YogaFest was created to make yoga and wellness more accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability or previous yoga experience. The festival offers a variety of yoga and mindfulness experiences, including programming for beginners, children and families, while creating opportunities for local studios, wellness practitioners and community members to come together in one shared public space. Come spend a day by the river, explore the variety of wellness vendors, move, breathe, chant and learn from the numerous free classes offered by experienced teachers. In the spirit of harvest, we gather in dance. Through movement, we embody the joy of the harvest feast, the reverence of ritual, and the catharsis of somatic release. Together we step into revelry, grounding ourselves in gratitude for the earth’s generosity, and in the kinship of community. Ecstatic Dance is a form of freeform movement where participants let go of inhibitions and dance to the rhythm of the music without following any structured steps or routines. It’s a way to express oneself authentically through movement in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
