About Bear Mountain State Park
Bear Mountain State Park is a scenic Hudson Highlands destination located just across the Bear Mountain Bridge in the Stony Point and Tomkins Cove area. The park features a paved auto road leading to the summit at 1,283 feet, where visitors will find the historic Perkins Memorial Tower and sweeping views. Hiking trails wind throughout the grounds, including a stretch of the famous Appalachian Trail, and the park also offers a swimming pool and paddleboats on Hessian Lake. In winter, cross-country skiing is available, making it a true year-round destination.
