The Historical Society of Rockland County presents, “Protecting the Ramapo Pass: George Washington’s Little-Known Fortifications at Sidman’s Bridge.” Sunday, June 28, 2026. 1PM-4PM. When we drive up Route 287 or Route 17, we are passing through a piece of history that George Washington knew well: the Ramapo Pass. He wrote in his logbook that it was of vital importance that the Ramapo Pass remain in American possession. The History Luncheon will be presented by Rockland County Historian Craig Long.
