Lake DeForest is a 590-acre Suez Water reservoir straddling New City, West Nyack, and Valley Cottage in Clarkstown, NY. The reservoir itself is not open for recreation, but it offers a scenic shoreline backdrop along Route 304 and Lake DeForest Drive. The road network surrounding the reservoir is a popular destination for cyclists and makes for a pleasant scenic drive. Admission is free and the area is accessible year-round.
