About Lake DeForest

Lake DeForest is a 590-acre Suez Water reservoir straddling New City, West Nyack, and Valley Cottage in Clarkstown, NY. The reservoir itself is not open for recreation, but it offers a scenic shoreline backdrop along Route 304 and Lake DeForest Drive. The road network surrounding the reservoir is a popular destination for cyclists and makes for a pleasant scenic drive. Admission is free and the area is accessible year-round.

Join the Town of Clarkstown and our valued community members in a fun filled day of playing the world famous card game of Canasta! Your price includes coffee, tea, bagels and muffins in the morning and a hot lunch in the afternoon. Prizes will be awarded for various achievements of game play. Various raffles including a 50/50 will benefit Meals on Wheels of Rockland County. Arrive at 10:15 AM *Pre-registration required
