The Camp Shanks Museum is a small museum located behind the Orangeburg Library in a recreated barracks building in Orangeburg, NY. It commemorates Camp Shanks, the largest US Army point of embarkation during World War II, which sent 1.5 million GIs overseas and included the landing forces for D-Day. Inside, visitors will find displays of uniforms, equipment, photographs, and artifacts from the camp's 1942–46 operation. The museum is volunteer-staffed on weekends in season and is free to visit, with parking and accessibility available on site.
